Use your Nokia as a Mouse

Written in Java and an accompanying Windows driver, utilizing the phones BT(bluetooth) capability and camera, a fellow hacker has come up with a great way to add a new funtionality to the Nokia phone in creating a BT mouse.
All is required is a BT-enabled pc or notebook/laptop and Windows OS. There's also a possibilty of a GPRS connection and an interface for mirroring the PC's screen on the Nokia's display.
The possibilties are endless and I believe this application/project will take off since everyone carries their mobile phone with them and people aren't so keen about notebooks/laptops input devices and this is a perfect match.

Mobile Phone Trojan !
“Kaspersky’s laboratory”, the Russian developer of systems for protection against viruses, trojan programs and a spam, informs on detection of the first nocuous program for the mobile phones, capable to execute Java-appendices (J2ME).
The Trojan spreads in the guise of a J2ME application “RedBrowser”, which promise to enable the user to visit WAP sites without using a GPRS connection. Trojan’s author says , that it is realized by sending and reception of free-of-charge SMS-messages. Actually the Trojan sends SMSs to some premium paid mobile services, at a rate of $5 - $6 per each of such a messege.
Trojan program has received name Trojan-SMS.J2ME.RedBrowser.a (by classification of virus analysts of the company).
The Trojan is a J2ME application, may be called “redbrowser.jar”, and is 54482 bytes in size.
The Trojan can be downloaded and installed to the victim device either via the Internet (from a WAP site) or via Bluetooth or from PC.
The Jar-archive contains :
* FS.class - auxiliary file (2719 bytes in size)

More Mobile Internet that Wired Internet Users in Japan

A report from Digital World Tokyo (via Textually.org) has the interesting news that more people in Japan access the Internet through mobile devices than through wired connections, and more frequently. At the end of 2005, an estimated 69.2 million people were using the Internet from mobile devices, compared with 66 million from conventional PCs. This is a startling figure, and one I can only assume comes from a much cheaper data transfer pricing model in Japan compared with elsewhere. We've seen recently that UK providers like O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile are launching high speed mobile services, but they also cost significantly more than fixed line services, and come with much more restrictive limits on data usage, which prevents them from being a competitor for fixed line Internet access.
One side effect of cheap access to mobile Internet services in Japan has been an explosion in mobile commerce services, with the Japanese mobile commerce market worth an estimated US$6.3 billion in 2005. 2005 was also the first year that saw sales of conventional goods via mobile websites exceed the sale of mobile-specific content, such as ringtones and video clips.
